REVISES INFORMATION
Referring to the second quarter 1997/1998 financial statements
already submitted by Singer Thailand Plc on February 13, 1998 at 17.00
hours to SET, we wish to revise clause 5 in Notes to Company Financial
Statements (Economic crisis and effects on company's operation ) so that
the information provided is clear and complete to the readers.
Existing : 5 Economic crisis and effects on company's operates
The company operates in Thailand, which, together with a number of
other countries in the Asia Pacific Region is currently experiencing an
economic crisis. The crisis in Thailand has involved a slowdown in
economic growth, a shortage of liquidity within the country and
volatility in both the securities market and the value of the Thai Baht.
The company's operations have been affected by the economic crisis in the
current year and are expected to continue to be effected for the
foreseeable future, with particular regard to the ability of the company
to repay debt and the ability of the company to collect its receivables.
The ultimate outcome of the economic crisis cannot be determined at
present. The interim financial statements for the three-month and six-
month periods ended 31 December 1997 do not include any adjustments that
may arise as a result of the effects of this crisis.
